We like to have trips for everyone
Here at Bolton Area Divers we host plenty of trips throughout the year. Starting from entry level socialising club meets at Capernwray Dive Centre all the way up to once in a lifetime holidays to Truk Lagoon, Maldives, the Philippines etc.
We usually run two trips a month within the UK and a couple of trips abroad throughout the year. We have holidays to Malta (which is an an annual B.A.D tradition) and of course to Egypt.
If you are new to diving or even one of our longer time club members you may be wondering which trips are best for you.
What does this mean for you as a club member?
We have always planned our trips with a bit of everything for everyone in mind. From the brand new PADI Open Water Diver who have done 4 training dives to the seasoned instructor who has 1000s of dives under their belt and also enjoys technical diving!
Therefore we like to let our club members know which trip is suitable for what they want. We do this by running different dive programmes. All you need to do is pick which one fits to you and then look out for the trips we are running that are suitable for your programme.
Let me explain further…
Let’s start at the very beginning! If you are brand new to scuba diving and want to get going, look for the ‘DDP’ sticker on the trips we advertise. This is great for someone who wants to find buddies and build up their experience gently. This is for a diver who will gradually gain experience first in freshwater then into shore diving and finally boat diving. You may also have decided to give UK diving a go after only ever diving warmer climates abroad and need to build up your experience in a drysuit.
This programme is best suited to someone who has been diving in the UK and has a suitable variety of experience in freshwater and saltwater, from the shore and from boats. You know what to expect from a UK dive trip and feel confident with your dive skills. Look out for the ‘ADP’ sticker as these trips are a little more advanced and suitable for you.
These trips hit shallower levels therefore are great for PADI Junior Open Water divers. They may be shore dives or from a boat. They are great for the raring young scuba divers out there who dream of one day being a marine biologist and can’t wait to see what is under the waves. Parents/guardians look out for the ‘CDP’ sticker on our trips.
Speaking of marine biologists this moves me onto our next programme. The ‘CE’ stick indicates a trip that has some conservational or environmental aspects to it such as a beach clean within it or a PADI Project Aware course. This is why non-divers can take part too! You can be a brand new diver or a experienced diver to take part in this programme.
Last but most certainly not least- the ‘TD’ sticker is for those techies out there. These trips are specifically for divers who enjoy deeper diving and has the experience and set up to do so. You need to very experienced and confident to take part in these trips. You may only want to do these types of trips so keep your eyes peeled for this sticker.
