The HSA’s Advanced Open Water diver course is all about exploration, excitement and experiences. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different adventures. You try out different diving experiences under the supervision of your HSA Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.
Course Description
This course involves completing five Advanced Open Water Dives:
- Underwater Navigation
- Night diving
- Deep diving
- Wall / drift or mid water dive
- Marine life identification dive
This HSA Advanced Open Water Diver Course includes:
- Knowledge development sessions in class
- Open Water training dives with your Instructor over two days
- Equipment needed to complete your training including air fills
- All course materials
- Certification card
Entry requirements
To participate in this experience you will need to:
- Complete a self-declaration of medical fitness to dive
- Completed the HSA or PADI Open Water Diver course
- Aged 15 years or above

Where you complete this diving course
Your course will start in one of our four dedicated training rooms at Bolton Area Divers. Unit 10a Brownlow Business Park, Tennyson Street, Bolton. BL3 4UW. We will then travel to Turton Sports Centre to complete the in-water section of your training. Your open water training can be completed over one weekend at various locations around the UK or abroad. Previous destinations have included Oban in Scotland, Swanage in Dorset, Porthkerris in Cornwall, Newquay in Cornwall and Malta, to name just a few.

This cost includes:
- Equipment hire
- Use of the training pool
- Training materials
- Certification
