HSA Open Water Diver

If you’ve always wanted to learn to Scuba Dive, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.

Get your scuba diving certification with the HSA Open Water Diver course. Here, you will get all the support you need until you qualify as an Open Water Diver. Our Instructional staff will work with you until you achieve your goal.

Course Description

Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including safe diving practices, dive equipment and dive techniques. You earn this rating by completing pool dives and knowledge development sessions and open water dives. The open water dives can either be done with us locally or abroad.

This HSA Open Water Diver Course includes:

• Knowledge development in class
• Confined water training where you get to practice and master your new skills in a safe, heated pool
• Open Water training where you get to repeat the skills you practiced in the pool in open water and explore
• Equipment needed to complete your training including air fills
• All course materials
• Certification card upon successful completion

All HSA courses are performance based, not time based, so don’t worry if you get stuck on any part of the course. As long as you put the effort in, we’ll work with you until you pass with NO EXTRA COST TO YOU.

Entry requirements

To participate in this experience you will need to:

• Complete a self-declaration of medical fitness to dive
• Aged 15 years or above

Your course will start in one of our four dedicated training rooms at Bolton Area Divers. Unit 10a Brownlow Business Park, Tennyson Street, Bolton. BL3 4UW. We will then travel to Turton Sports Centre to complete the in-water section of your training. Your open water training will be carried out at Capernwray Dive Site, Jackdaw Quarry, Capernwray Road, Over Kellet, Carnforth LA6 1AD.
